What is Accidental
Damage Cover?
Accidental Damage Cover is an optional benefit which extends cover to
include accidental events, giving rise to a loss, e.g. a large spillage
on carpet, if someone puts their foot through the ceiling.

What is Extra
Cover for Jewellery, Personal Belongings, Bicycles and Money?
This is optional additional cover available to you for valuable personal
possessions inside or outside of your home. This cover is generally requested
for valuable possessions such as jewellery, expensive items of clothing,
cameras, golf clubs or other sports equipment.

What is Specified Extra Cover on Individual Items?
This can be described as a valuable personal possession, which you wish to have specifically noted on your home insurance policy under Extra Cover for Jewellery, Personal Belongings, Bicycles and Money. Such an item may be a valuable piece of jewellery or an expensive camera.

What does Excess mean?
Excess is the amount payable by you, in the event of a claim. Under this
policy, you will be required to pay a standard excess of €275. You
have the option to increase the excess, which will reduce
your premium.

What is meant by
Good Quality Deadlocks?
For the purposes of your home insurance policy, a good quality deadlock
is a three-lever mortice lock.

What is Help in
a Home Emergency?
This is an optional cover for home emergencies. We can help 24 hours a
day, 365 days a year with comprehensive emergency service designed to
assist you in the event of a household emergency, e.g. if pipes burst.
An emergency is an unexpected or sudden event which damages your home
and which needs immediate action to prevent further damage and to make
it safe and secure.

What is Index Linking?
Index Linking refers to the value at which the buildings and contents
are insured. We will increase these amounts, when necessary, to keep them
in line with inflation.

What is EN50131
Standard (old IS199)?
This is a regulation, which was introduced to establish a minimum standard
for the installation of burglar alarms. If your burglar alarm has been
fitted by an authorised contractor to EN50131 Standard (old IS199) you
should have been given a certificate to verify this at installation.

What is the Premium
Payment Plan?
With our Premium Payment Plan you can pay your premium over 10 monthly
instalments. You can select to pay your instalments as follows:
- By BillPay at the Post Office - using cash, cheque or Laser card
- By www.billpay.ie
- By Direct Debit from your Bank Account. In this instance, you can
pay your first instalment over the phone or by cheque, money order,
credit card or Laser card. You can then pay your remaining instalments
automatically by Direct Debit from your Bank Account.

What is the
Reinstatement Value?
Reinstatement Value is the cost of completely re-building your house (less
the value of the site) including architects and surveyors fees. It is
important to note that the Reinstatement Value is the figure for which
your house should be insured, rather than the market value of the house.
