What is Extra Cover for Jewellery, Personal Belongings, Bicycles and Money?

What is Specified Extra Cover on Individual Items?

This can be described as a valuable personal possession, which you wish to have specifically noted on your home insurance policy under Extra Cover for Jewellery, Personal Belongings, Bicycles and Money. Such an item may be a valuable piece of jewellery or an expensive camera.

What does Excess mean?

Excess is the amount payable by you, in the event of a claim. Under this policy, you will be required to pay a standard excess of €275. You have the option to increase the excess, which will reduce your premium.

What is meant by Good Quality Deadlocks?

For the purposes of your home insurance policy, a good quality deadlock is a three-lever mortice lock.

What is Help in a Home Emergency?

This is an optional cover for home emergencies. We can help 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with comprehensive emergency service designed to assist you in the event of a household emergency, e.g. if pipes burst. An emergency is an unexpected or sudden event which damages your home and which needs immediate action to prevent further damage and to make it safe and secure.

What is Index Linking?

Index Linking refers to the value at which the buildings and contents are insured. We will increase these amounts, when necessary, to keep them in line with inflation.

What is EN50131 Standard (old IS199)?

This is a regulation, which was introduced to establish a minimum standard for the installation of burglar alarms. If your burglar alarm has been fitted by an authorised contractor to EN50131 Standard (old IS199) you should have been given a certificate to verify this at installation.

  • By BillPay at the Post Office - using cash, cheque or Laser card
